Sow. Grow. Give!
THE GROWING STRONG STARTS GREENHOUSE PROGRAM
The MISSION of the Growing Strong Starts Greenhouse Program is to build skills and community while growing
high quality seedlings to support school gardens in the West Contra Costa County school district.
We launched in September 2014, and have continued to grow into our fourth year.
Last year, 24 schools received 5,000 plants free of charge to support their garden programs, altogether worth $2,500!
We are now planting winter gardens with kale, chard, garlic and potatoes, and this spring our schools will receive tomato, lettuce, pumpkin, beans and many other seedlings.
This program is a collaboration of West County DIGS and The Craneway Pavilion.
Our greenhouse is located in the northwest corner of the large Craneway Pavilion parking lot.
